Music For Delivering Babies
I was messing around in iTunes tonight and I came across the play list I put together for my hospital stay when Lucy was born. I had gone through all my CDs and picked out songs that I found calming or that made me smile. I didn't get all of my songs uploaded (since I was 2 weeks early) but I did manage to assemble 34 songs. I'm sure my dear Husband wished I would have made it through all of my CDs, as he had to listen to that play list over and over that entire day. Also in the rotation was the Jayhawks CD Smile (I had forgotten how much I LOVE that CD), and Psalms by John Hermanson.
Anyway, I noticed my play list has a "last played" date and time for each song. The last song I listened to that night (Friday May 29th) was Smoke Rings in the Dark by Gary Allan at 10:55PM. I think after that time we were both trying to sleep, and at about 3:15AM I started to push, and I wasn't even thinking about having any music on at that point.
The nurse made a comment that we had a lot of variety in our musical choices. For those of you curious, here are the songs that helped me bring my baby into the world:
