Summer Weekend Warriors: 6/15 Friends and Father’s Day
I did a really poor job of taking photos this weekend, but it was an action-packed one for sure.
Following all the birthday fun on Friday, on Saturday I turned around and went to a bridal shower for my good friend, Jacquie. It was a really fun time and I enjoyed meeting her friends. I wasn’t too worried about engaging with people, because I knew if they were Jacquie’s friends, that I would most likely like them, too! She’s just that kind of person. We’re all very excited for her nuptials next month!
After the shower I joined Husband’s family over at his dad’s house for an informal Father’s Day get-together. It started raining shortly after I got there, but there was plenty of good food and conversation inside the house to keep us going. Lucy provided an impromptu dance recital in the living room, and another showing for Grandpa as he spun some old-time 33s on his record player. It was a nice, relaxing time. I left that party a little early, because around 5:30 I headed back across town to join Jacquie, her fiancée, and a few friends for dinner and drinks. Not much time at home on Saturday!
Today was of course, Father’s Day. In the morning, we all spent some time working in the yard together, which we really enjoy. Lucy helped Brett plant some new bushes and move the “old” ones to the back. I weeded and picked up sticks, and we all walked around and commented on the other things we’d like to do. We had some lunch and were enjoying a lazy afternoon when around 3:30, someone walked in our front door. It was Brandon! He and his dad enjoyed some computer gaming time, and we all went out to dinner. Someone was VERY excited to see her big brother.
Another great family weekend!
