Back at It

Well, hello there. It's my first blog post of 2014.

Not necessarily intentional - just busy I guess. Or not? I don't know. January was just sort of blah, and now it's the first Sunday in February and I'm sitting here watching the Super Bowl (Denver v. Seattle, for posterity), or rather sort of watching the Super Bowl, and hanging out for the commercials and the Bruno Mars halftime show.

So what happened in January? Pretty much business as usual.

- We unpacked and played with all of the Christmas toys.

- We ended the first dance/gymnastics session with a midseason "show," which a certain someone did not want to participate in.

- BUT, she was perfectly fine doing her own show at home...

- Husband got a job (OK, this one was a pretty big deal)

-We started a new session of swimming in a new level with a fun new teacher

- We had some ups and downs with the Big Kid, but the ups are winning. He's doing well.

- I went to the D.C. area for a company meeting. Spent about 16 hours on an airplane and about 6 in the actual meeting. They had us fly home via Atlanta. Yes, I typed that right.

- It has been cold. Really cold. The Governor even called off school for the whole state one day, and most schools had up to four other unscheduled days off in the month of January. When it warms up to something tolerable, it snows. And so goes winter in Minnesota.

- Speaking of cold, we saw the movie "Frozen" (again) and listened to the soundtrack (a lot). But I really do love the movie! More on that later.

So, yeah. Just slogging along up here in the Arctic Tundra. Slow and steady. How was your January?

Your flight reminds me of the time Lynn flew in to Des Moines.... via Dallas.

Another year for this same meeting in D.C., we had a connecting flight via Denver. So yeah, nothing like flying over the place you're trying to get to!
