Angel Baby

Today Lucy was baptized in a beautiful little ceremony at the beginning of a regular service at our church. She was a little angel baby - very alert, no fussing...she even gave the pastor a big 'ol smile when he was anointing her, which caused a wave of chuckles throughout the congregation. She was surrounded by her grandparents, Great Grandma, and nearly all her aunts and uncles.

The day was extra special not only because of all of the family coming together, but also in part because of what Lucy wore to be welcomed as a child of God. She wore the baptismal dress that I wore on my baptism, which was also the dress that my mom wore on hers. Bringing that tradition to her day was something very special to me. To keep her cozy she wore a pink sweater crocheted by her Grandma Laabs, which was also special (and just for fun, she had on a pair of pink bloomers with her name stitched on the bottom). I know I'm biased, but she really was adorable!

We are so thankful to all of our family for being present and sharing this day with Lucy. We love you all!
